Conquering the Chaos is one of the best business books on India I can remember reading. I particularly liked the way Ravi Venkatesan learned from his mistakes, not in the usual lip-service way, but in that they really taught him how to make a business work better. The key for me was the emphasis on localising and innovating – and how a foreign company expecting to sell its existing products in India is unlikely to get far. The fact remains that India is different from other countries, and large or formal businesses need to adapt to succeed.
